The Taba Paradise Resort is located 24 km south of Taba and 40 km north of Nuweiba. The 5 star hotels are ideal for a relaxing sun and fun holiday . Before you continue reading: Yes, we can recommend the SAS Radisson Taba as a Sinai destination for your holiday. We were very satisfied with services and facilities provided. We stayed in the hotel in the beginning of August 2005 for 3 nights on all inclusive basis in a standard room. The room had garden view and a spacious terrace, equipped with table and chairs. The room was large enough for our beds. The extra bed was not as comfortable. Room services provided was excellent and on request we were given extra pillows and possibly all extras we would have asked for. The rooms were simple, cozy and clean and set up with everything one needs during a holiday. This was our first time on all inclusive basis and we were simply taken away by what was offered. A huge breakfast buffet enjoyed over a maximum time. Therefore we never were able to enjoy the morning snacks offered afterwards. Lunch started at noon. Again we were surprised about the variety of different hot and cold dishes. The afternoon snack was different every day. The dinner was excellent and consisted of International cuisine. In the 3 days we culinary traveled from Bali to India and Japan as well to Europe and of course Middle Eastern kitchen All local beverages were included. What we missed were fresh juices. Here is the question, if seasonal fresh juices might not be a better choice than the chemical consistency of juice powder. Apparently the waiters were on an all day shift. We saw the same waiters in the morning, during lunch and at dinner time. May it be that because of the long shifts and the high occupancy they lost the sense of Sinai hospitality? Or maybe the policy of all inclusive which grants you one glass at a time, water included, might be more work intense. However, waiting for drinks took long and we had the feeling that our orders were more a burden for the waiters than it was a duty. When we ordered water or coffee again we smiled about their looks which said simply: … again…. We spend our days around the pool, though the beach is very wide and sandy and coral reefs are very close. For first time visitors to the Red Sea swimming and snorkeling is a must experience. The pool was Ok, not very clean for a 5* though and lacking water. The tiles were a kind of unhygienic messy. Positive was rows were separating a part of the pool for swimmers allowing to do some swimming exercise. Our first drinks we got from the pool bar and later we found the beach bar offering tomatoes juice in cans, which we really enjoyed with some salt, pepper and Tabasco . Our child of course enjoyed the ice cream offered between daylight hours. Signs recommended wearing casual when visiting the restaurants. We were amazed how many women were bathing topless at the pool. It would have been worth to put up a sign saying to wear a bathing suit or find oneself a corner on the beach hidden from eyes of employees and others. Egypt is conservative country. The picture of topless bathing women is often generalized and feeds prejudices against western women. The health club was excellent equipped, very clean and sufficient machines. A sauna and Jacuzzi were at extra costs, so was the different types of massages offered. Honestly we were too exhausted after a day by the pool, swimming and relaxing and all these many beautiful yummy offered all day long to join in the evening entertainment shows or to hang out in the pub/bar. We went straight to the room after dinner (second shift from 9 – 10.30 pm), watched TV for an hour and slept. Apparently the hotel has a shopping center offering all kind of souvenirs and useful stuff and a bank, where you can cash your credit card either manually for all kind of cards or at the ATM accepting only Visa and Master. For those guests who wish to experience the beauty of the Sinai away from the hotel you will find representatives of your tour operator offering sight seeing tours and transportation into the nearby neighborhood. All in all this was a very relaxing holiday in a luxury resort in the most stunning scenery: magnificent Sinai Mountains and the Gulf of Aqaba , with a spectacular sunsets and sunrises. The only points are still our request for fresh juices and every now and then a smile on the face of some of the waiters. |
